And the Texas Slams continue for the 09-10
season. Below are hunters Nyle Maxwell with his first Texas Slam, and Milton
Harrell with his record 8th Texas Slam! Both hunters were hunting with
Burton's Hunting Service. Congrats to both Nyle and Milton!

Here is the second Texas Slam of the 2009-10
season taken by
Genessa Gerber. Genessa took her mule deer in Andrews County, whitetail in
Kinney County on the Back Porch Ranch, and her B&C pronghorn antelope in Hudspeth County. Congrats to
Genessa!

Here is the first Texas Slam of the 2009-10
season taken by
Danny Schultz. Danny took his mule deer in Hudspeth County, whitetail in
Schackelford County, and his record antelope in Hudspeth County (see below
story on the antelope). Congrats to Danny!

Here is the new Number 2 All-Time TBGA
record pronghorn antelope taken this season in Hudspeth County gross scoring
89 6/8 B&C and net scoring 88 4/8 B&C! The monster antelope was taken by
Danny Schultz. Congrats to Danny and the MacGuire Ranch. The MacGuire also
produced the number two antelope last year, which is now the new number
three all-time!

There are reports that this typical mule deer
may be the new TBGA all-time top typical mule deer ever taken in Texas. The
muley was taken in Gaines County by past TBGA Texas Slam awardee Rick Merrit.
The deer is said to gross in the 200's and net around 199 B&C typical.
Gaines County opened for mule deer hunting, for the first time in 2008-09.
Will keep you posted on the official score.

Here is a great non-typical
whitetail taken in Region 2 by hunter Mike Gibson. Mike took the deer on a
low fenced property in Cottle County using his Sharps Buffalo Rifle! Gross
score is 212 B&C. Congrats to Mike and look for this entry into the TBGA
soon!

Congrats to hunter Eric Minter who took
this great non-typical whitetail on a low fenced property in Kaufman County,
in Region 5. The buck scored 212 3/8 gross and net scores 205 2/8 B&C!

Hitting the web is this monster buck
reportedly taken just north of Muenster. More details as they become available.
UPDATE - 11/16/09
This buck was taken by Aaron Stepich in Cooke County with a
gross score of 200 5/8 and net score of 192 3/8 B&C. Congrats to Aaron for a
great whitetail. Look for his story on this fantastic hunt, in a future
issue of TWA's magazine, Texas Wildlife.

Marko Barrett harvested the first big
white-tailed deer of the 2007 hunting season harvested in Webb County.
Once the deer has been officially B&C scored for the TBGA it could rank
NUMBER ONE ALL-TIME in the TBGA! We will keep you posted on the
outcome and congrats to Marko!
THE BUCK HAS BEEN
OFFICIALLY GREEN B&C SCORED AND IS NOW THE NEW
ALL-TIME BIGGEST NON-TYPICAL WHITETAIL EVER ENTERED IN THE TBGA! GROSS SCORE
IS 275 7/8, NET SCORE IS 269 2/8!
The deer's velvet was stripped for official scoring.
